A win can ensure a place in the Super Four. Bangladesh's opponent in such a balanced match is Sri Lanka. The team has won the Asia Cup 6 times in the past. However, Bangladesh has never won the title even though it reached the final three times.

Sri Lanka won the toss and sent Bangladesh to bat first at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

Batting first, Bangladesh lost the wickets of two openers before adding any runs to the scoreboard in the first two overs. This is the first in a men's international T20. No one has ever made such a bad record as Bangladesh.

However, it is the fourth time that they have failed to score any runs in the first two overs. Bangladesh is the second full member team after Zimbabwe vs. West Indies in 2010, who have failed to score any runs in the first two overs in a T20.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will face each other in the fifth match of the 17th edition of the Asia Cup at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

Tanjid Hasan Tamim was dismissed in the first over of the innings against the Sri Lankans. He failed to score any runs in the first five balls of the first over of the innings. He tried to bat straight off the last ball. Tanjid was bowled out due to a timing error.

The team was put under pressure as Tanjid was dismissed before any runs could be scored in the first over. Another opener, Parvez Hossain Emon, was also dismissed before the team could overcome that pressure. He was caught off Dushmant Chamira and returned.
