US President Donald Trump's Air Force One and a Spirit Airlines passenger plane narrowly avoided a head-on collision in the busy New York airspace. The incident occurred on Tuesday (September 16) local time. The Economic Times reports

A Bloomberg report said that Spirit Airlines Airbus A321 (Flight 1300) from Fort Lauderdale to Boston and the president's Boeing 747 approached each other at almost the same altitude. Realizing this, the air traffic controller ordered the pilots to change direction several times.

Although the two planes were several miles apart and did not cross any safety lines, the incident has attracted widespread attention on social media. Because on one side was the president's famous plane, on the other was the constant angry radio instructions from the New York-based controller.

According to Bloomberg News, the incident was first posted by the BlueSky app account ‘@JonNYC’ and the audio was shared by an account called ‘@thenewarea 51’ on X. Bloomberg News was unable to verify the audio with the original air traffic control recording.

When the air traffic controller received no response to his initial message, he repeated, “Spirit 1300, pay attention, turn right 20 degrees.” The controller then ordered, even louder, “Spirit 1300, turn right 20 degrees now.”

He shouted one last time, “Spirit Wings 1300, turn right 20 degrees. Quick.”

Finally, the Spirit pilots accepted the direction change. The controller said, “Spirit 1300, there is traffic 6 or 8 miles off your left wing. It’s a Boeing 747.” I'm sure you can see who it is and who's in it.'

Then the controller in New York warned the Spirit crew one last time, saying, 'Attention! Turn off the iPad!'

Incidentally, US President Trump arrived in London yesterday night local time. He met with King Charles at Windsor Castle during this state visit.
