India starts Asia Cup by blowing away UAE

On Wednesday (September 10), the opening pair showed some hope when they came out to bat first at the Dubai International Stadium, but UAE was bowled out for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs. After a flying start in chasing the target, Suryakumar Yadav's team reached the victory port with 87 balls in hand despite losing 1 wicket.

India won the toss and opted to bowl. It was then that it became clear that there was something special about the wicket. Although the UAE somehow managed to survive the first 7 overs in front of Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Shivam Dube came on the attack and their innings ended.

UAE lost their first two wickets in the fourth and fifth overs. Opener Alisan Sharaf scored 22 runs off 17 balls. Then Mohammad Joaib and Rahul Chopra returned to the dressing room. In the ninth over, captain and opener Wasim was dismissed for 19 runs off 22 balls as the fourth batsman.

After that, no other batsman from the team could score double figures. For India, left-arm leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets for just 7 runs in 2.1 overs. Pace all-rounder Dubey took 3 wickets for 4 runs in 2 overs. Besides, Bumrah, Axar and Varun Chakraborty took one wicket each.
