Barcelona have been hit by a double injury blow as they failed to get the good news of Lamine Yamal's return from injury. Brazilian winger Rafinha and goalkeeper Joan Garcia have been ruled out of the team, which has put new worries on the forehead of coach Hansi Flick at the beginning of the season.
Last night, the Spanish giants' Brazilian winger Rafinha left the field with discomfort due to a hamstring injury in the match against Real Oviedo in La Liga. In an official statement, Barcelona confirmed that he has injured his right thigh. The 28-year-old winger will have to be out of the field for at least three weeks due to this injury. Barca goalkeeper Joan Garcia's injury is more serious. He tore the internal meniscus of his left knee during training today (Friday). He will need surgery to recover from this injury.
Initially, it is expected that he will be out of the field for 4 to 6 weeks. With Garcia's injury, the responsibility of handling the goalposts is now on the shoulders of Wojciech Szczesny. Garcia will also have to be a spectator in the first El Clasico of the season. These injuries to two important members of the team at the beginning of the season are a big blow for Barcelona.
Flick's team will host PSG in the Champions League in early October. They will also have to face tough opponents like Real Sociedad and Sevilla in La Liga.
