The European country of Armenia is planning to form a ‘Ministry of Sex’ so that no woman in the country is ‘unsatisfied’. This ministry is being formed according to the proposal of a rebel political party.

Sargis Karapetyan, one of the founders of the Strong Armenia party, formed before the upcoming elections, has claimed that sexual dissatisfaction is the main reason behind the increase in political activism among middle-aged white women. In response to the question of whether a ministry should be formed to solve that problem, Karapetyan said, ‘Yes, and this ministry could also play a role in combating Armenia’s declining birth rate.’

The idea of a Ministry of Sex was first raised by Armenian sociologist Armen Khachikian. In a podcast called ‘Triangle’, he said that women are becoming more active in politics than before due to sexual dissatisfaction.

Podcast host Levon Sergiyev suggested that a ministry should be established to address these issues. Karapetyan said the ministry should be called the “Ministry of Sex.” Karapetyan also claimed that the ministry would play a key role in addressing Armenia’s declining birth rate, although he did not specify any specific measures.

The comments were strongly criticized by Sona Ghazaryan, a member of parliament from the ruling Civil Contract Party. In a post on Facebook, she called the comments “outright sexism.” She wrote, “Taking away women’s right to make their own decisions, reducing them to the level of men’s fantasies and obscene promises, is a heinous act. There is no point in trying to go back in time.”

Netizens on social media are also sharply criticizing Karapetyan’s comments. Feminist influencer Lucy Kocharyan said in a post, “Don’t impose your pre-election sexual desires on the women of Armenia.”

In the face of criticism, Karapetyan claimed that her remarks were taken out of context. She accused Armenia’s political leadership of “destroying the people from within.”

She asked, “Is the government upset with my choice of words, or is it because I openly talk about problems? A healthy society and a healthy Armenia should be our main goal.”

The Telegraph reports.
