Kristen Stewart hints at leaving the US: ’It’s hard to work in Hollywood’ during Trump’s rule

Hollywood star Kristen Stewart has announced her plans to leave the US and work abroad. The actress believes that the Hollywood environment has changed during Donald Trump's rule. In her words, reality is collapsing under Trump. In a recent interview with the British media The Sunday Times, the 35-year-old actress said that she wants to make films outside the US in the future. She even wants to make films in Europe and bring them back to American audiences.

Kristen said, "I may not be able to live in the US anymore. It's not possible to work independently there. But I don't want to stop making films for American audiences. I want to make them in Europe and bring them back to Americans."

Kristen Stewart's first film, 'The Chronology of Water,' was recently released. It is based on the 2011 autobiographical book by American swimmer and author Lydia Yuknevich. The film deals with sensitive issues such as childhood abuse and addiction.

Kristen said that it was almost impossible to make the film in the United States. So, it was shot in Latvia. Donald Trump recently proposed to impose a 100 percent tariff on films made outside the United States. He also commented that these films are a ‘threat to national security’. Kristen Stewart called the proposal “terrible”. According to her, it will seriously harm independent filmmaking and force artists to work abroad.

Incidentally, Kristen Stewart’s conflict with Donald Trump is not new. In 2012, Trump strongly criticized her personal relationship with director Rupert Sanders while she was in a relationship with Robert Pattinson. At that time, she made a series of offensive posts on the social media X (then Twitter).
Later, recalling that time, Kristen commented that it was crazy. According to her, she was just a reality show star at the time. Now, looking back, everything seems incredible.
