Television star Deepika Padukone has spoken publicly about her experience with liver cancer for the first time. The 'Sasural Simar Ke'-famous actress recently took part in a podcast hosted by Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa and shared her story of her physical and mental struggle. According to Hindustan Times, Deepika said that 22 percent of her liver had to be removed as part of the treatment.

In the podcast, Deepika said that an 11-centimeter tumor was removed from her body. Which had destroyed about 22 percent of her liver. She recently underwent another scan, the report of which will tell whether she is completely cancer-free or not.

She said, I will have to undergo another scan in the first week of November. It is like a CT scan, but it is used specifically to detect cancer cells. And the previous scan report showed that the cancer has not spread beyond the tumor, which is a relief for her. Doctors are also surprised that no explanation has been found for how cancer developed in her body despite living such a healthy life.

Dipika Kakkar got emotional while talking about her husband Shoaib Ibrahim's role in her medical journey. She said, "I don't get any test done without Shoaib. I can't get any test done without him holding my hand or being by my side." Recently, Shoaib also told his fans in a Q&A session that they have again gone to the hospital for the necessary tests. The doctors will decide the next step once they get the report.

After going through long treatment, mental stress, and physical pain, Deepika is currently on the path to recovery. Her courage, positivity, and her husband's selfless companionship are becoming an inspiration to many.
