About 140 US troops have been injured in the ongoing Iran war. The Pentagon spokesman confirmed the casualties. In a statement on Tuesday (March 10), local time, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said that about 140 US military personnel have been injured since the start of the operation against Iran, eight of whom are in critical condition.
He said, "About 140 US troops have been injured during the 10-day series of attacks since the start of Operation Epic Fury. Most of these injuries are 'minor'. 108 soldiers have already returned to duty. Eight soldiers are seriously injured and are receiving the highest level of treatment."
Earlier, a US official told CNN that some of the seriously injured soldiers are in a life-or-death situation. Seven US soldiers have been killed in the Iran war so far.
Meanwhile, Washington has announced a new escalation in the US military operation against Iran. Today (March 10) could be the most dangerous day of the attack, said US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
He said at a briefing in Arlington, Virginia, that the most fighter jets, bombers and strikes will be conducted today. According to the US military, the operation has now reached a point where targets are being destroyed with "precision".
Hegseth said at a press conference at the Pentagon, the US Defense Headquarters, "Today is the day when the most fighters, the most bombers will fight, the most attacks will be carried out." At the same time, Hegseth said that the number of missiles launched by Iran in the last 24 hours since the start of the war has decreased relatively.
