Pakistan and China have taken new initiatives to strengthen cooperation in space science. The two countries recently agreed to establish a space research, astronaut training and Pakistan Space Center under the 2025-2029 Action Plan.
This agreement is part of the Action Plan for China-Pakistan Close Partnership in the New Era. Geo News reported this in a report on Tuesday (September 9). The two countries will continue to implement the 2021-2030 Space Cooperation Outline Program signed between the China National Space Administration and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission.
China and Pakistan have pledged to work together in lunar and deep space exploration. In particular, Pakistan will have a role in China's proposed International Lunar Research Station (ILRS). At the same time, research and cooperation on advanced space technology will be increased.
One of the important aspects of this action plan is the joint selection and training of astronauts. This will create opportunities for Pakistani astronauts to participate in human space missions in the future. In addition, initiatives will be taken to establish a Pakistan Space Center, which will play an important role in research, technological development and socio-economic progress.
The report said that China-Pakistan space cooperation will open new horizons in agriculture, disaster management, water resources management, climate monitoring and urban planning. For this, Pakistan will benefit from China's advanced satellite and remote sensing technology.
