The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of gold in the country's market again. The new price of 22-carat gold has been set at 262,440 taka per bhori, increasing it by 5,249 taka in one go. This is the highest price of a bhori of gold in the country's history.

The price increase was announced in a notification by BAJUS on Monday (January 26) night. The notification stated that the new price will be effective from Tuesday (January 27).

According to the new price, the current price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) will be 262,440 taka. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori will be 250,484 taka, 18-carat gold per bhori will be 214,734 taka and the price of traditional gold per bhori will be 176,593 taka. Earlier, on Sunday (January 25), the price of 22.22 carat gold in the domestic market was 2 lakh 57 thousand 191 taka.

This year, Bajus adjusted the price of gold in the domestic market a total of 14 times. Where the price was increased 11 times. And the price decreased only 3 times. On the other hand, last year, the price of gold was adjusted a total of 93 times in the domestic market. Of these, the price was increased 64 times. In addition, the price of gold was reduced a total of 29 times in 2025.
