Dhaka International Trade Fair inaugurated

Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin is inaugurating the Dhaka International Trade Fair.
The Dhaka International Trade Fair has been inaugurated at the permanent venue of Purbachal in Rupganj, Narayanganj. The 30th edition of the International Trade Fair was inaugurated at the Bangladesh China Friendship Exhibition Center (BBCFEC) building in Sector 4 of Purbachal at 11:30 am on Saturday (January 3).
EPB sources said that the date of the inauguration of the International Trade Fair was earlier fixed as January 1. The government declared a three-day national mourning following the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. In this, the date of the inauguration of the International Trade Fair was changed from January 1 to January 3.
Since 1995, the Dhaka International Trade Fair has been held on the first day of the year as usual. The fair has been organized at the permanent venue of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BBCFEC) in Sector 4 of Purbachal since 2022. This is the fifth time that the fair is being held in Purbachal. All preparations for the fair are almost complete.
This year's 30th edition, jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), has been held. Several countries, including Bangladesh, are participating in it. The largest event for displaying the country's products is the International Trade Fair. Along with domestic products, products from various countries including India, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Nepal are displayed at this fair every year.
The use of polythene bags and single-use plastic has been banned in this fair. As an alternative, eco-friendly shopping bags will be provided at a reduced price through the Ministry of Textiles and Jute. According to the layout plan of the fair, 324 pavilions/stalls/restaurants of different categories, stalls have been allocated to domestic manufacturing-exporting companies, general business organizations and foreign companies.
To facilitate the transportation of general visitors to the fair, more than 200 dedicated BRTC shuttle buses will run from Kuril Bishwa Road, Farmgate (Khejurbagan/Khamarbari), Narayanganj and Narsingdi every day from 8 am for the purpose of the trade fair.
