In the first 6 days of this December, expatriates sent 632.3 million dollars to the country. At 122 taka per dollar, the amount is more than 7 billion taka in local currency. This means that an average of 105.4 million dollars or more than 1222 million taka came into the country every day. This information has been revealed from the updated report of Bangladesh Bank.

According to the updated report of the central bank, remittances of 632.3 million dollars came into the country in the first 6 days of December. Of this, 85.8 million dollars came through state-owned banks. In addition, remittances of 81.7 million dollars came through specialized banks.

In addition, 463 million dollars came through private sector banks in the first 6 days of this December. And during this period, expatriates sent 1.7 million dollars to the country through foreign sector banks.

Earlier, in the outgoing November, expatriates sent the highest amount of 288 crore 95 lakh 20 thousand dollars to the country in the current fiscal year. With this, an average of 9 crore 63 lakh dollars in remittances came to the country every day.

In total, remittances came to the country from July to December 6 of the current fiscal year, 13.67 crore 10 lakh dollars. Whereas during the same period last year, expatriates sent 11.73 crore 20 lakh dollars. The growth in remittances for the fiscal year is 16.5 percent.
