Former Pakistani Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has finally got the opportunity to meet his sister and wife after a long nine months. Amidst the family's concerns about the physical condition of the leader in prison, the country's Supreme Court allowed him to meet his family members once a week. In view of this, they met in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Samaa TV Online reported.

According to a report by Pakistan's influential media outlet Dawn, Imran's sister Noreen Niazi met him for the first time this year. As per the Supreme Court's instructions, the meeting lasted only 15 minutes in the prison's conference room. During this time, it is said that Imran's physical condition and recent treatment were discussed with the family members.

Noreen Niazi also informed Imran Khan about the important order of the Supreme Court, which has ordered him to be transferred to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for a physical examination.

However, his sister refrained from making any comments on political issues after the meeting. This is because the Supreme Court had previously warned that if this meeting is used for any kind of political gain, the facility given will be cancelled.

Due to security reasons, Imran's other sisters - Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan or his cousin Qasim Zaman were not allowed to meet him. Even no political leader of PTI was allowed to enter the jail.

In addition to meeting his sister, the former prime minister got the opportunity to meet his wife Bushra Bibi separately. According to The Express Tribunal, this meeting between Imran and Bushra Bibi lasted for about 35 minutes in the same conference room of Adiala Jail.

Bushra Bibi, who is imprisoned in the same jail, also spent about 40 minutes with her children from a previous marriage, Musa, Mubashara Maneka and Ja Meherunnesa.

It is worth noting that 72-year-old Imran Khan has been imprisoned in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail in multiple cases since 2023. He is currently serving a 14-year prison sentence in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.

Recently, after his physical condition deteriorated, the Supreme Court ordered his transfer to Shifa Hospital within two days, where his treatment is scheduled to continue until the next hearing of the case on September 16.
