The Trump administration has fired back at a female CNN reporter for questioning her about her personal relationship with an aide to US President Donald Trump. The move comes amid a string of recent attacks on female journalists by the White House.

At an event in the Oval Office, journalist Kristen Holmes asked President Trump for his reaction to a Democratic lawmaker's comments about his executive assistant, 34-year-old Natalie Harper.

Immediately after the question, the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) shared a link to the White House's 'Rapid Response' team video and commented on Kristen Holmes, saying, "One day your children will see your dirty and inhumane question." They added, "The President is at the White House felicitating a heroic lifeguard, and he (the journalist) is taking this opportunity to launch a cheap attack on a staffer of President Trump. These kinds of people are absolutely despicable."

Later, when asked about North Korea, the 80-year-old Republican leader harshly criticized Holmes. Trump expressed his anger and told him, "You are a loudmouth, a screamer. You are fake news, shut up."

The event was originally organized to honor a teenage lifeguard who recently saved a child from a huge wave. However, as part of his regular practice, Trump left the opportunity to take questions on other topics besides the main topic.

CNN strongly condemned the White House's behavior, saying in a statement that such a personal attack on Holmes was "unbecoming of the office of the President." CNN added, "We stand firmly with Kristen and strongly condemn this attack."

Natalie Harp was one of the few trusted aides who accompanied Trump during a secret Air Force One transfer in July. Since then, Natalie has been the subject of much discussion and debate on the Internet and in the political arena.

Democratic Senator and potential 2028 presidential candidate Jon Ossoff recently accused Trump of not doing his job properly, saying he “wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie.”

Trump responded by calling Senator Ossoff “like Pee-wee Herman” and defending the $400 million ballroom at the White House, but did not comment on aide Natalie Harp.
