US President Donald Trump has come under fire for describing the Strait of Hormuz as ‘new US territory’. Iran has responded strongly to the post on the social media platform Truth Social.
On Truth Social, Trump published a new map of the Strait of Hormuz. The image shows the Strait of Hormuz, some parts of Iran, the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The image was written on it – ‘New US Territory’ i.e. new land of the United States.
In response to Trump’s post, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that Trump’s illusion about the Strait of Hormuz will be corrected soon.
He said that Trump’s illusion about the Strait of Hormuz will be corrected soon. Or we will correct the misconception of this confused person.
Trump's claims have brought renewed discussion to the relationship between the United States and Iran. Iran has not officially commented on these comments. However, analysts believe that Trump's comments and propaganda on Hormuz could further escalate the current geopolitical tensions.
