Another famous singer of the country, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, has faced severe criticism on social media for performing qawwali at the tomb of legendary Pakistani qawwali artist Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on her death anniversary.

Recently, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan went to pay his respects at the grave of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on the occasion of her death anniversary almost three decades ago. At that time, his son Shahzaman Ali Khan was with him. There, the father and son performed a kalam (Sufi song) in the presence of a large number of fans.

In the video of this incident that has spread on social media, it can be seen that the audience present during the song performance is throwing paper money in the air. A fierce debate started soon after the video went viral.

A large section of netizens have expressed dissatisfaction with the manner of singing and throwing money in front of the grave. In the video's comment box, one user wrote, 'No respect for the grave.'

Another sarcastically commented, 'It seems he is drunk again.' Many were seen writing 'Astaghfirullah' and strongly condemning this behavior.

There is now a fierce debate among fans about whether this method of paying tribute is appropriate.

It is worth noting that world-famous qawwali Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan breathed his last in August 1997 at the age of just 48. Rahat used to participate in performances with his uncle Nusrat from the beginning of his musical career. After his uncle's death, he single-handedly established himself as one of the leading qawwali artists in Pakistan and continues to carry on this family tradition.

However, although the song was sung as a tribute, discussions and criticism on social media about the venue and style of performance have not stopped.
