Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 75 on Wednesday. On this occasion, leaders from various countries of the world, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, greeted him.

In a message released from the Kremlin, Putin wrote, Dear Prime Minister, please accept my sincere congratulations on your 75th birthday. You personally play an important role in further strengthening the special and privileged strategic partnership between our two countries. Your contribution to the development of Russian-Indian cooperation in various fields is commendable.

He also wrote that under Modi's leadership, India has achieved impressive successes in the social, economic, scientific and technological sectors.

Putin mentioned that I highly value our close friendly relations. We will certainly continue constructive dialogue and joint work on bilateral, regional and international issues.

Earlier this month, the two leaders met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin. There, both stressed the need to further expand the Russia-India strategic partnership.

Modi also said that Russia and India are standing "shoulder to shoulder" even in the most difficult situations. He added that our close cooperation is important not only for the people of our two countries but also for global peace, stability and prosperity.

Putin is scheduled to visit India in December to attend the annual bilateral summit.

In addition to Putin, leaders from various countries, including the United States, Israel, Australia and Italy, greeted Modi. US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social, "I spoke to my friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone. He is doing a wonderful job. Thank you Narendra for helping me end the Russia-Ukraine war!"
