Israel will not attack Qatar again: Trump

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not order another attack on Qatar, one of the mediators in the ongoing war between Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, and Israeli forces. US President Donald Trump, the other mediator in the war, announced this information.

He made these remarks during an exchange of views with reporters in the Oval Office of the US President on Monday (September 15).

Trump said that Netanyahu will not order another attack on Qatar. Qatar is a very good ally of ours and many people do not know this, but he (Netanyahu) will never order an attack on Qatar in the future. From now on, he will work together with Qatar.

On September 8, the Israeli Air Force attacked an apartment building in Doha targeting top Hamas leaders who were sheltering in Qatar. The current top Hamas executive Khalil al-Haya and other senior leaders of the group were the targets of the attack.

The operation, which lasted only 15 minutes, killed a total of six people, including five Hamas members, in Doha, but fortunately Khalil al-Haya and members of the Hamas high command survived.

Meanwhile, in a briefing on September 9, a few hours after the attack, Caroline Levitt, the press secretary of the US President's official residence, the White House, claimed that Qatar had been warned about a possible Israeli attack in advance.

Levitt said in the briefing that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had informed him about the attack in advance. Netanyahu said that he wanted peace and wanted it soon. So we had news of the attack in advance. After speaking with Netanyahu, President Trump immediately warned Doha about the impending attack through Steve Witkoff. Later, Doha was also warned from the US military base in Qatar.

However, when an Axios reporter asked Trump about the matter in the Oval Office on Monday, the US president said, "No, they didn't tell me anything in advance. I got the information about the attack the same way you got it."
