Trump Says Gaza War Will End Within Three Weeks

US President Donald Trump has said that the war in Gaza will come to an end within the next three weeks. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters on Monday, August 25, according to Al Jazeera.

Trump stated:

“I think within the next two to three weeks, you are going to see the final conclusion of this war. It has to end, because alongside hunger and other crises, the brutal deaths and loss of life keep rising.”

Although the Trump administration has repeatedly pledged to end the war, in practice it has continued to supply Israel with billions of dollars’ worth of weapons while rejecting international calls for recognition of a Palestinian state.

Earlier this year, in February 2025, Trump had controversially suggested removing all Palestinians from Gaza — a proposal widely condemned as tantamount to ethnic cleansing and a crime against humanity.

On Monday, when asked about the latest Israeli strike on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital — which killed 21 Palestinians, including five journalists — Trump initially appeared unaware of the incident. Pressed for a reaction, he said:

“Well, I’m not happy about it. I don’t want to see that. At the same time, we need to bring that whole nightmare to an end.”

He then shifted to discussing his efforts to secure the release of remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza.
