There is good news for Bangladeshi applicants waiting for family-based green cards in the United States. The August 2026 Visa Bulletin has made major progress in the F-2A family-based immigrant visa category. This category includes spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 of lawful permanent residents or green card holders in the United States.
According to the US State Department's August Visa Bulletin, the Final Action Date for the F-2A category has been moved up from January 1, 2025, to July 22, 2026. This means that in just one month, this cut-off date has been moved up by almost a year and a half. This date also applies to Bangladeshi applicants.
According to the U.S. Department of State, the final approval date published in the Visa Bulletin is the primary determining factor for issuing immigrant visas to applicants with a priority date. The National Visa Center also said that applicants must have a current or effective priority date for interviews in the numerically limited family-based visa class.
