Iran respects us: Trump

US President Donald Trump said that talks are underway with Iran, they respect us. He also said that he is more interested in reaching an agreement through talks than launching a military operation against Iran.
Trump made these remarks at an event in Las Vegas on Wednesday (August 5) local time.

He said, "I don't want to kill people. So I want to make a deal instead of a war."

He also claimed that his administration was preparing to launch the "biggest attack since World War II." However, the plan was suspended when Iranian officials expressed interest in talks.

According to Trump, they called me and said, "Please don't attack, let's talk." Now they are saying, "We didn't say anything like that." But even the fake news media knows they said it. Anyway, now the talks are going on. Let's see what happens. They respect us.’

He reiterated, ‘Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.’

Regarding the oil market, Trump said that the current stalemate surrounding Iran would significantly reduce oil and fuel prices. He said, ‘We are already reducing prices. Once the Iran crisis is over, oil prices will go down a lot, gasoline prices will also go down.’

On June 18, Washington and Tehran signed a framework agreement and began talks aimed at a final agreement. However, those talks later stalled due to disagreements over ensuring security and free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Tensions rose again last month. The United States launched an attack inside Iran. In response, Iran demanded retaliatory attacks targeting US military installations and equipment in several Arab countries, including Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait.
