Defense system almost exhausted, Trump not attacking Iran out of fear

During the conflict with Iran, the United States has used about 80 percent of its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system interceptors. That is why US President Donald Trump repeatedly threatened to attack Iran's critical infrastructure, but backed down.
However, CNN reported this information in a report.

Earlier, Reuters and CBS News reported that the United States has also used a large part of its global stockpile of long-range precision missiles during the war against Iran.

The CNN report, citing two relevant sources, said that about four-fifths (80 percent) of the THAAD interceptors that were there before the war started have been used. At the same time, about half of the interceptors of the Patriot missile defense system have also been used.

The report also said that President Donald Trump backed away from a major planned attack on critical Iranian infrastructure due to the rapidly declining missile stockpile and concerns about potential Iranian retaliation against U.S. allies in the Middle East.

However, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Pentagon, and the White House have downplayed the concerns.
