Israel is burning in a severe heat wave. It is expected that this summer heat wave will reach its peak and the temperature is continuously increasing. Meteorologists said that the temperature may reach 45 degrees Celsius in the areas adjacent to the Sea of Galilee and it may rise to 46.5 degrees Celsius in the Jordan Valley.

The weather forecast for Sunday (August 2) said that the weather will be dry and hot in the mountainous and inland areas. On the other hand, the humidity will be felt relatively more in the coastal plain areas. Heat-related discomfort may intensify and become severe across the country. The winds will be strong from the afternoon, especially in the mountains and inland areas.

Earlier, a sharp increase in temperatures was observed on Saturday, which reached 40 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature recorded on that day was in Gilgal in the Jordan Valley, which was 43.5 degrees Celsius. Capernaum and Beit Shean also recorded temperatures of 43.5 degrees Celsius. The Jerusalem area also suffered from the heatwave; the Old City recorded 36.1 degrees Celsius and the foothills recorded 40 degrees Celsius.

The coastal plain, by contrast, was spared from the extreme heat wave. While temperatures there will be close to 30 degrees Celsius, humidity levels will reach 75 percent, creating severe heatwaves or heatwaves.

Temperatures will drop slightly in the mountains and interior on Monday. However, the weather in these areas will remain hotter than normal and humidity will continue to prevail in the coastal plain. Although heatwaves will ease somewhat, they will remain severe to extreme across the country. Winds are likely to pick up again in the mountains and interior in the afternoon.

According to the weather forecast, skies will be partly cloudy to clear on Tuesday morning and temperatures will drop further (especially in the mountains and interior). The weather will become more favorable after the clouds clear on Wednesday morning. Temperatures in the mountains and interior areas will drop slightly to normal or seasonal levels. However, humid weather will continue in coastal areas.
