US plans new attack on Iran this week

US President Donald Trump is planning a new attack on Iran this week. Two US officials familiar with the matter have given this information. However, the scope of the attack and which installations will be targeted have not yet been decided. Officials said that the attack plan may be canceled depending on the situation.

According to a report by US media CAN, Trump hinted at another major attack against Iran at a cabinet meeting on Friday (July 31). He also expressed dissatisfaction with the failure of diplomatic efforts to produce the expected results.

He said, "We will attack them very hard. At some point, they will say, 'We can't take it anymore.'"

According to US officials, US Central Command (Centcom) has prepared various options to expand the war. Among them is a plan to bomb Iranian missile installations for two weeks.

In addition, the possibility of an attack on Iranian energy infrastructure is also being considered. However, the Trump administration is cautious about such steps. Because this could lead to Iran retaliating against energy facilities in the Gulf region, which could cause major instability in the global energy market.

Earlier this week, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Tel Aviv wants to attack the country's energy facilities to put more pressure on the Iranian economy. However, he said, "The United States has not yet authorized such an attack."

At present, there is no indication that Israel will directly participate in the new US attack.

US officials also said that preparations have been made to target various Iranian nuclear facilities, including Pickaxe Mountain, located south of Tehran. These preparations have been strengthened in the past few days.

Meanwhile, when asked about the news that Trump has ordered a new attack over the weekend, the White House said that the president "will not allow such terrorist acts to continue."

White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt said in a statement, "Until Iran agrees to the meaningful talks that President Trump is talking about, the country will pay a price.
