‘Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is not in the country

Saudi Arabia-based media outlet Al-Hadath has claimed that Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is not currently in Iran. The media outlet reported this sensational information, citing an Israeli security source.

After the killing of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a US and Israeli airstrike on February 28, his son Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed as the country’s new Supreme Leader. However, since taking office, he has not appeared in public and has only been giving his messages through written statements.

The Israeli security source told Al-Hadath that the messages or statements being published in the name of the new Supreme Leader are not actually his own writings. Ahmad Vahidi, the new head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and other top officials of the force are writing these messages in the name of Mojtaba Khamenei.

The source also noted that there is currently intense internal conflict and division within Iran, which threatens the very existence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Meanwhile, regarding the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, the source said that even if Tehran launches any kind of attack on Israel, Washington does not want Israel to participate in a counterattack. In other words, the United States wants to avoid direct Israeli participation in any kind of military action against Iran.
