Popular South Indian actor Vijay's much-awaited film 'Jana Nayagan' has created a huge frenzy among the audience even before its release. After the advance ticket sale started in various cities in India, tickets for many screenings were sold out in an instant. The price of a ticket in some theaters has reached a maximum of Rs 2,500.

The film directed by H Vinoth is releasing in theaters on July 23. Interest in the film, which was released after a delay of almost seven months, has increased further because it is being promoted as Vijay's last film before joining politics full-time.

Advance ticket sale has started in various cities in India including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kerala. While the price of tickets for the Tamil version is between Rs 100 and 800 in most places, the price of premium seats in Bengaluru is more than Rs 1,000.

The price of a recliner seat at the city's Cinepolis Nexus Santiniketan theater has been set at Rs 2,500, which is the highest ticket price for the film so far.

Despite the high price, the audience's interest has not waned. Most of the tickets for the premiere shows priced between Rs 800 and Rs 1,000 were sold out within minutes of the start of the sale. Many of the 6:30 am shows have also been 'housefull'.

On the other hand, the government-set price limit has been maintained in Tamil Nadu. In Chennai, the highest ticket price is Rs 190 and the lowest is Rs 54. Even then, the audience response has been remarkable. Kamala Cinemas said that they sold more than 10,000 tickets within minutes of the start of booking.

Outside India, there has also been a lot of interest in the film in various international markets, including the UK. Distributor Ahimsa Entertainment said that thousands of tickets were sold within an hour of the start of booking.

Produced by KVN Productions, ‘Jana Nayagan’ stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamita Baiju and many others alongside Vijay. Initially scheduled to release in January this year, the film was postponed due to censor complications. Later, after editing some scenes and changing dialogues, the film received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and is ready for release on July 23.
