Sergio Aguero is looking forward to playing against Bangladesh!

You might be a little surprised to read the title. You might think, Sergio Aguero has already retired! Besides, Bangladesh is not even playing against Argentina, so what? 

The truth is, if everything goes well, 'Sergio Aguero' could even face Bangladesh in the FIFA Asian Cup on September 25. However, this Aguero is not the former Argentine forward Sergio Aguero, his name is Sergio Fabian Esquiel Aguero, who has been playing for Malaysia under a different nationality for the past four years. 

Aguero has created a similar confusion in Malaysia, having initially been caught in a fog. In an interview with FIFA, he said, "Everywhere I go, people talk about it!"

He has many similarities with Aguero. Like the Argentine Kun Aguero, the Malaysian Aguero was born in Argentina. Both once led the attack of their respective teams. However, their career paths are completely different. One has reached the very top of world football and become a global star. While the other is still trying to make his mark in Asia for his club and national team.

Sergio Fabian Ezequiel Aguero, who was born in La Rioja, Argentina and is now a Malaysian citizen, said he often hears funny comments from fans.

"People always make fun of me for having that star with the same name as me," Aguero said in an interview with FIFA.

Aguero's interest in football grew out of his love for the country's two greatest stars while growing up in Argentina.

He said, "My two biggest role models, sources of inspiration are Juan Roman Riquelme and Lionel Messi. I regularly observe their style of play and try to imitate all their moves. But it is not an easy task at all, because we are talking about two superstars of the game," he said with a laugh.

Aguero's career path has been unique. After playing youth football in his home country with River Plate and All Boys, he signed his first professional contract with Hungarian club Tatabányai in 2015. After spending just one season in Eastern Europe, he moved to the other side of the world, to Malaysia. He now considers this country his home. He proudly became a citizen of the country in 2022.

Since then, he has been playing for the Malaysia team. He has scored 3 goals and assisted 2 more in 23 matches. However, his job now is not to score goals, but to maintain the structure of the team. That is why the number is a little small. However, it is not something he will talk about if he gets the chance. 

If everything goes well, Bangladesh will face Sergio Aguero on September 25th.
