Joe Root surpasses Smith’s world record

Joe Root has surpassed Australian star cricketer Steve Smith to set a world record. The England captain set a world record in the Test series whitewash against Pakistan.

Joe Root played 169 Tests for England, setting a world record of taking 220 catches. Former Australian captain Steve Smith is in second position with 219 catches in 125 Tests.

Indian legend Rahul Dravid is in third position with 210 catches in 164 Tests. Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardene took 205 catches in 149 Tests.

Legendary South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis set a record of taking 200 catches in 166 Tests.

Pakistan cricket team whitewashed in England. The Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team lost the three-match Test series 3-0 on a tour of England.

Although Pakistan won the warm-up match at the beginning of the tour, Babar Azam was ignored by the hosts in the official series.

Pakistan lost the first Test of the series in Leeds by an innings and 103 runs. Babar Azam could not score more than 171 and 135 runs in the two innings.

Pakistan, determined to regain the series, were bowled out for 110 and 194 runs at Lord's and lost by a huge margin of 194 runs.Pakistan lost the Edgbaston Test by a huge margin of 8 wickets, having just concluded in Birmingham.
