Jordan accuses FIFA president of ’blackmail’

Jordan Football Association President Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein has accused FIFA President Gianni Infantino of 'blackmail'. He claims that if he supports Infantino, he will be offered cooperation in solving various problems in Jordanian football. This information has come to light in a report by international sports media Goal.com.

In a post on social media X, Prince Ali said that Jordan has always prioritized moral positions. That is why they have not supported Infantino in the past and will not do so in the future. According to him, such an offer is tantamount to 'blackmail' and Jordan will not succumb to such pressure.

Prince Ali also alleged that FIFA did not provide the necessary assistance to Jordanian fans who faced visa complications in the United States during their participation in the World Cup. He also expressed his anger over the excessive costs of organizing the World Cup and the fact that he did not receive the money he was owed even after finishing as runner-up in the 2025 Arab Cup.

He claimed that the Jordan Football Association had to bear a significant tax burden due to its location in the United States. However, the same situation did not arise for teams located in Canada or Mexico.

In addition, despite reaching the final of the 2025 Arab Cup held in Qatar, Jordan has not yet received the promised money. In this regard, Prince Ali said that although FIFA regularly advertises its financial capacity, it is failing to pay the participating teams their due money on time.

This new accusation against Infantino has created new discussions in world football even before the controversy over the sale of the commercial rights of the World Cup has subsided. However, no official response has been received from FIFA on this matter so far.
