Ferran Torres, who scored the only goal against Argentina in the World Cup final, is leaving Barcelona. Spain's World Cup winner is joining two-time European champions PSG.
Several media outlets have given the same information. According to a report by Foot Mercato, the Spanish star has decided to leave the Catalan club while on vacation. Negotiations are ongoing with his agent with the French club. Spanish newspaper Marca says that positive talks are going on between PSG and Barcelona. The two sides will talk about it next week.
Torres' transfer fee is expected to exceed 50 million euros. The star had set such a price before the World Cup. It is believed that there will be no problem getting this price because he scored in the World Cup final.
Meanwhile, PSG is releasing Bradley Barcola. He has contacted several clubs, including Liverpool. If Barcola leaves, there will be a place for Torres. Torres played a key role in Barcelona's attack last season under Hansi Flick, replacing Robert Lewandowski as one of the main strikers. He started 23 league games and scored 16 goals as Barca won their second consecutive La Liga title.
Torres made 207 appearances for the Catalans, scoring 65 goals and providing 23 assists. Barca signed him from Manchester City in 2022 for a fee of €55 million. The 26-year-old forward previously played for Valencia.
