Many people try to lose weight quickly, keeping in mind an event, trip or special occasion. But the goal of losing excess weight in a short time can be harmful to the body. According to experts, the main goal of losing weight should be to be healthy, not just to look thin.
Indian nutritionist Rijuta Diwekar, who is also known as the nutrition consultant of Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, has given three important tips for losing weight in a healthy way.
1. Lose weight slowly, not quickly
Many people set a goal of losing 10-15 kg in 2-3 months. However, according to experts, losing weight too quickly can lead to loss of not only body fat, but also muscle. This can also lead to problems like weakness, fatigue, loss of skin radiance and sagging skin.
He said that there should be a natural pace of weight loss. In general, losing 5-10 percent of the total body weight in a year is considered a healthy goal. This can help reduce the risk of various long-term diseases including diabetes, high blood pressure.
2. Familiar and balanced food is enough
While losing weight, many people rely on foreign or expensive foods instead of familiar foods. However, according to experts, such changes are not necessary.
Weight control is possible with fish-rice, meat-rice, roti-curry, idli, dosa or local healthy food. The important thing is that the food contains enough protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals and the total calorie intake is moderate.
3. No single food is magic for weight loss
Many people think that a specific 'superfood', detox drink or a special food can reduce weight quickly. But in reality, there is no such food that alone guarantees weight loss.
According to experts, healthy eating habits, regular exercise, adequate sleep and long-term lifestyle changes are the most effective ways to sustainably control weight.
Remember
Patience is the biggest thing when it comes to losing weight. If you prioritize a healthy and balanced lifestyle over quick results, your body will stay healthy in the long run and it will be easier to control your weight.
