Pakistani freestyle rapper Gani Tiger is making his presence known in London by connecting with fans through energetic rap songs and poetry in Punjabi and Urdu.

After moving to London from Pakistan about a year ago, Tiger has gained immense popularity through his freestyle rap. His songs often touch on contemporary social and political issues.

Recently, one of his rap songs, sung in tribute to the Pakistani armed forces, went viral on social media. The song gained immense popularity due to its catchy lyrics and patriotic theme.

Tiger's real name is Hamza Gani. He has performed at various venues in London to huge applause from fans after opening concerts by rap stars Bohemia, Abrar-ul-Haq and Bilal Saeed.

He has also performed at various house parties, street corners, and several famous venues in London, including Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus.

Tiger is considered by many in the music industry to be a talented artist.

He can compose and sing a new rap song in just a few seconds; he creates the lyrics, rhythm, and vocals of the song almost instantly. Due to this ability to create instant rap poetry, Bohemia, Abrar-ul-Haq, and Zeeshan Rokhri have described him as an "extremely talented" artist.

In 2020, his father was murdered and his brother was shot in the Pasrur area of Punjab. At that time, Tiger posted an emotional video demanding justice, which attracted widespread attention online.

Tiger claims that some of the people involved in his father's murder have yet to be arrested. He later transformed this personal tragedy into an emotional song about the loss of a loved one, hope, and survival.

In an interview, he said, “My father’s murder was the darkest chapter of my life. I was quite young when he was killed. I found hope in the darkness and decided to live with positivity and hope. I worked hard to take care of my family and made sure that I could educate the needy people around me.”

He made his mark in Pakistan through the underground rap circuit, live events and online streaming platforms.

He is now known for his sharp vocals, street-inspired lyrics and a strong following on social media. He has established himself as one of Pakistan’s emerging freestyle rap artists.

He said, “I learned from my real-life stories how to transform everyday emotions, struggles and ambitions into powerful rap performances. Since coming to London, I have been able to reach a wider British-Asian audience. South Asian rap is gaining traction in the UK, with artists mixing Punjabi, Urdu and English words to create music that speaks directly to the diaspora. I love that.’

Tiger said that freestyle rap artists attract audiences with their raw and unadulterated style.

He added, ‘Rappers are not usually the most polished artists in the industry. Rather, their music is a blend of real-life experiences, the struggle to make it online and grassroots popularity. It’s very different from traditional, soft and poetic music. It’s a completely different experience. A large section of the new generation feels a sense of belonging to this genre of music.’

Tiger said that it’s not easy to get recognition through freestyle rap.

He said, ‘I personally didn’t look for the traditional path to fame. I believe in creating my own stage, finding my own audience and getting my music out to people directly. Social media has helped me a lot in this regard.’

For Tiger, London has now become a new platform to showcase his freestyle talent, reach a wider audience and further strengthen his connection with fans in the British-Pakistani community.’
