Shah Rukh Khan inaugurates stadium in the United States

Apart from ruling Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is also the King Khan of cricket. He is one of the owners of the popular franchise 'Knight Riders' group. The company has now set a new milestone in cricket history.

The franchise has achieved the feat of building and operating an international standard cricket stadium outside its own country for the first time.

The stadium is located in the Fairplex Complex in Pomona, California, USA. It will be used as the home ground of the Los Angeles Knight Riders team owned by Shah Rukh Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan said in a video message yesterday (July 1) while inaugurating the new stadium, 'What was once a dream has become a reality today. Bringing cricket, the second most watched sport in the world, to Los Angeles is a historic moment for us. This long-term partnership between Fairplex and Knight Riders has not only created a cricket venue, but also a place where there will be a sense of community, joy, entertainment and togetherness.

Shahrukh also said, "This is not just a cricket ground. It is a place to spend quality time with family and friends. We want this to become the permanent home of cricket in Los Angeles and to inspire a new generation to love cricket."

Built to international standards, the stadium has eight wickets in the main square, ICC standard field measurements and six floodlight towers measuring 120 feet high. Over 32,000 metric tons of soil were removed for the construction of the stadium.

Venky Mysore, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Knight Riders Sports, said, "This is not just a stadium, it is a symbol of our vision for the future of cricket. This is a proud milestone for us as the first global cricket brand to establish an international cricket stadium."

Currently, the Knight Riders Group has four franchises—Kolkata Knight Riders (IPL), Trinbago Knight Riders (CPL), Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ILT20) and Los Angeles Knight Riders (MLC). In total, the franchise has won nine major titles so far.
