In this incident, the actress's lawyer Ugur Gökköyun said in a statement that Esi Ertem died while she was with her mother at her home. The lawyer said that according to initial information, it is believed that she may have died of a heart attack. However, the investigation is still ongoing and the exact cause will be known only after the autopsy report comes.

Meanwhile, after the death of the star actress, information about antidepressant medication has come to the fore in her mother's statement. Which has created a new twist in the incident. Her mother has given a statement to the police. According to the statement, the actress's mother said that at 5:51 pm, she and her daughter went to a birthday party in their alley. There, they cut a cake, spent time together and returned home at 8:36 pm.

The actress's mother said that her daughter drank alcohol at the birthday party and went home after taking antidepressant medication. She also heard her daughter going to the bathroom once at night and later went back to sleep. But the next morning, when she called for breakfast, there was no response even after calling many times.

Nuriye Ertem said, "When I entered her room, I saw a kind of liquid coming out of her mouth. She had drunk a lot of alcohol and had also taken a strong antidepressant medication."

Regarding, Esi Ertem was born on June 14, 1991 in the city of Sivas in central Turkey. She studied opera singing at the Department of Music at Yaşar University. Then, she started her acting career in 2014 with the Turkish series ‘Kacak Gelinlar’. Later, she acted in dramas such as ‘O Hayat Benim’, ‘Sheref Meselesi’ and ‘Kertenkele Yeniden Doyush’.

In 2017, she played the role of ‘Afet’ in the Show TV series ‘Yeni Gelin’. In 2019, she played the role of Robina in ‘Paytaht Abdulhamid’, in 2020, she played the role of Gizem Sez in ‘Bay Yanliş’, and in 2021, she received praise for her role as Felda in ‘Mahkum’.
