The court has allowed the exhumation of late popular film actor Salman Shah's remains for the third time in the presence of an executive magistrate to uncover the real cause of his death. It has also allowed the preparation of a post-mortem report and a re-autopsy to be conducted after the exhumation.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana issued this order on May 24 following the application of the investigating officer in the case. Earlier, on May 20, the investigating officer in the case, CID Police Inspector Ziaul Morshed, filed this application.

Incidentally, Salman Shah died on September 6, 1996, in his flat in Eskaton, Dhaka. After his death, his father, Kamaruddin Ahmed Chowdhury, first filed a wrongful death case. But later, on July 24, 1997, he filed a petition to convert the case into a murder case, alleging that his son had been killed. After that, the murder charge was dismissed after multiple investigations. Rather, it is said that he committed suicide. However, Salman Shah's family repeatedly objected to it.
