Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has explained the responsibility of supervising development of women MPs from the government party in the constituencies of opposition MPs.

Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem, a Jamaat MP from Dhaka-14 constituency, raised a question to the Prime Minister on this issue in the parliament session on Wednesday (June 10).

He said, according to information published in the media, women MPs from the government party have been given the responsibility of supervising development activities and issuing Geo letters in the areas of opposition MPs. From this information, we feel that this work is being given to them so that we, who are opposition MPs, will have no hand in the development activities of our areas, right?

In response, the Prime Minister said, "You probably know that the women members who have been elected as members of parliament from our or your party, do not have any specific seats in the constitution or the law." Naturally, based on the political or organizational structure we have, we have designated some places for them from the party position where they will work.

The head of government also said that as a public representative, you have the full right in your constituency to play any role you want in the development of your area. But since this parliament has elected these women leaders, naturally they also have the same right. We are moving forward very naturally according to the government's rules.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman asked the opposition MPs to inform him if they need any cooperation for the development of their area. In that case, he assured that he would try to provide direct cooperation.
