Woman accused of trying to take 4-year-old boy outside Brooklyn McDonald’s

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A woman has been arrested and charged in the attempted abduction of a 4-year-old boy outside a McDonald's in Crown Heights, police said.

Police identified the suspect as Chrissy Payne, 47, of Brooklyn. She was arrested late Friday and charged with attempted kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child.

Authorities say Payne is the woman seen on surveillance video approaching the child outside the restaurant on Eastern Parkway earlier this week. Investigators allege she tried to walk the boy across the street.

The child's grandmother was watching him at the time, and his mother, a New York City police officer, was also nearby and quickly intervened.
