EU Chief Election Observer Meets Jamaat Ameer

Emir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Chief Observer of the European Union (EU) Election Observation Mission and Member of the European Parliament, Evers Ijabs, paid a courtesy call on him. The courtesy call was held at the Bashundhara office of the Jamaat Ameer on Monday (January 12) at 12 noon by a three-member delegation led by Evers Ijabs.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues related to the interests of Bangladesh and the EU. In particular, it was mentioned in the meeting that Bangladesh and the EU will work closely to make the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections free, fair and acceptable.
At the time, they also expressed their views on making all constitutional and democratic institutions of Bangladesh stronger and more sustainable. In addition, the EU also assured that a 200-member delegation of the union would work to observe the upcoming national elections.
Present with the Jamaat Ameer at the meeting were the organization's Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department, Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, educationist Dr. Zubair Ahmed, Development Team Lead Dewan Alamgir, and Jamaat Ameer's Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.
