Jordan’s King Abdullah II has cited the Israeli attack on Qatar as “proof” that Israel’s threat is “unlimited.” “Our response must be clear, decisive and, above all, deterrent,” he said.
King Abdullah noted that Israel continues its expansive policies in the occupied West Bank, which undermine the prospects for a two-state solution. He added, “The summit should take effective steps to confront Israel’s actions, end the war in Gaza and prevent the displacement of Palestinians.”
At the same event, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said, “This important summit has been held at a very critical time, when there are serious challenges for the entire region.”
He added, “The Israeli attack clearly shows that their actions have exceeded the limits of diplomatic and military logic. They have crossed all red lines. We strongly condemn Israel's hostile actions in Qatar.
In the context of this incident, the International Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called for an emergency agenda. The organization described this Israeli action as "very serious" and called for the necessary international response to prevent it.
Analysts believe that this incident of Israeli attacks in the Middle East has further tense the security situation in Qatar and the region. The tough stance of Jordan and Egypt indicates that new challenges may arise in international diplomacy and the peace process.
Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has opened an emergency summit of Arab and Islamic countries in the capital Doha.
He said that this emergency summit is being held in the context of the "major aggression" carried out in Qatar targeting Hamas leaders.
The Emir also mentioned that ordinary citizens and residents were surprised during the attack. Because this was not only a threat to the sovereignty of a country, a clear violation of international law, but it was also an 'unimaginably horrific and cowardly aggression.'
