US copied Iran’s ’Shahed-136’ drone: IRGC

Iran has claimed that the United States has added a new drone to its military called 'Lucas', which is a copy of the famous Iranian-made 'Shahed-136' drone. Brigadier General Majid Mousavi, head of the Aerospace Force of the country's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), made this statement at a ceremony.

Speaking at a meeting in the city of Khorramabad on Saturday, military officer Majid Mousavi highlighted Iran's major achievements in drone technology. He said Iran now has various types of "martyr" drones. Some of its drones are used for direct attacks, while others are used to monitor the enemy. 

Iran has achieved this international success in the drone sector today thanks to the innovative thinking and hard work of the country's young researchers.

The IRGC chief described the US move as a major recognition of Iran's technology. He said Washington was forced to develop its own 'Lucas' drone based on Iran's Shahed-136 drone and add it to its arsenal. He also reminded that Iran's 'Operation True Promise 1' successfully used the largest number of drones it had made.
