Pakistan security forces have conducted a special operation on an ‘Indian proxy force’ base in the Tank district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). At least 8 people were killed in the operation, Geo News reported on Friday (October 24).

The Pakistan Army’s media wing said that security forces killed eight ‘Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists’ in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Tank district of KP on Friday.

In a statement, the country’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Pakistan Armed Forces conducted an IBO operation in the area after receiving information about the presence of ‘terrorists’. During the operation, the ‘Khawarij’ positions were effectively attacked and eight ‘Indian-backed Khawarij’ were sent to hell after an intense exchange of fire.

The security forces recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the slain. The ISPR also said that a sanitization operation is underway in the area to find and eliminate any more 'terrorists or gunmen'.

Incidentally, terrorist activities have increased in Pakistan, especially KP and Balochistan, since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan in 2021. During this period, many Pakistani security personnel and civilians have been killed.

Since the beginning of 2025, more than 600 terrorist incidents have been recorded in KP alone, resulting in the deaths of at least 138 civilians and 79 police personnel.
