5 Bangladeshis sheltering Indian nationals in West Bengal, all arrested

The state police have arrested five Bangladeshis on charges of illegally entering and staying in West Bengal, India. In addition, an Indian woman has been taken into police custody for sheltering them.
It is learned that the five accused Bangladeshi nationals were hiding in the house of Rashidul Rahman in the border area of Changrabandha Gram Panchayat in West Bengal. The police of Mekhliganj Police Station in Cooch Behar district arrested Rashidul Rahman's wife Rabeya Bibi for illegally sheltering Bangladeshi nationals. After this incident, there has been a lot of excitement in the border area.
According to police sources, five Bangladeshi nationals illegally crossed the international border and entered West Bengal, India. Then they took shelter in the house of an Indian national named Rashidul Rahman, adjacent to the Doradabri border in Changrabandha Gram Panchayat. Based on a secret information, the police of Mekhliganj Police Station conducted a raid and arrested them.
It is also learnt that the arrested Bangladeshi nationals are all residents of different villages of Patgram police station in Lalmonirhat district of Bangladesh. They are Mohammad Ariful, Mohammad Sohag, Mohammad Rabiul Islam, Mohammad Laju and Mohammad Rubel Islam.
Local sources said that these Bangladeshi nationals entered India on the night of Kali Puja, taking advantage of the large gathering in the border village of Changrabandha on the occasion of the fair.
It is believed that they entered West Bengal, India, with the aim of smuggling cows. Ashish P Subba, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Mekhliganj, West Bengal, said that a search is on for four more Indians involved in this incident.
