Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, has claimed that the United States has accepted some of Iran's seven conditions for reopening the vital Strait of Hormuz. However, he does not consider Washington's response to be sufficient.

He gave this information in a message on social media X on Monday (October 12) local time, according to ANI.In the X message, Rezaei wrote, "The United States has agreed to some of Iran's seven conditions. But we believe that it is not enough. Iran's diplomacy has changed and there is no way to return to the previous state."

Earlier this month, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the United States must meet seven of Iran's conditions set out in a 14-point memorandum of understanding. The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the conditions are met.

Ghalibaf said the United States had recently sent a proposal through a mediator, but Iran remained adamant in its position.

Al Jazeera reported that the Strait of Hormuz will only be opened and negotiations will begin if Iran meets its conditions, including an embargo on Iranian oil sales and the lifting of the US naval blockade. Last month, Iran sent seven conditions to the United States through Qatari mediators in an attempt to start talks to end the ongoing conflict.
