Iran will not meet with the US in New York

Iran has no plans to hold new talks with the United States, a source close to the country's UN mission has said.

Speaking to Iran's state news agency IRNA on condition of anonymity, the source denied conflicting reports about Iran-US talks in New York.

The Iranian delegation is currently in New York to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The source said that Iran's position and conditions were clearly conveyed to the United States through Qatar's mediation last Tuesday. Tehran is now awaiting Washington's response. Although US President Trump has said that his country has rejected those conditions.

However, the media outlet quoted sources as saying that in this situation, there is no plan for a new round of talks with the United States in the Iranian delegation's program.

It has also been reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will return home on Tuesday after completing his scheduled program.Iranian President Masoud Pajhwok and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveled to New York this week to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
