8 US Marines injured in Iranian attack in Hormuz

Eight US Marines were injured in an Iranian anti-ship cruise missile strike in the Strait of Hormuz, the Anadolu news agency reported, citing three US officials. 

The report said the attack took place on September 14. The Iranian missile hit a ship carrying Marines.
However, officials said none of the injured were in serious condition. Some of them suffered from breathing difficulties due to smoke inhalation. In addition, some suffered symptoms such as headaches and brain injuries.
of the eight injured, seven were private Marines and one officer. They returned to duty shortly after the attack, officials said.

The soldiers were serving as part of a battalion landing team at the time of the attack.

However, the ship hit by the missile was not a US Navy warship. Officials did not disclose the type or identity of the vessel, only describing it as a maritime vessel.
