Putin warns of possible attack on gas pipeline in Turkey

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia has received intelligence indicating that there may be an attempt to sabotage the TurkStream and Blue Stream natural gas pipelines to Turkey. He made the comments at a meeting of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in Moscow on Tuesday (February 24).
According to local Russian and Turkish media, Putin said the information indicated that there could be an attack on Russian undersea gas infrastructure. He linked the potential threat to efforts to disrupt ongoing talks on the Ukraine war.
He also said Russia's energy and transport infrastructure must be more tightly protected. Moscow blames Ukraine for attacks on strategic facilities during the war. Putin ordered the FSB to step up security for key infrastructure in the context of the fourth anniversary of the conflict.
He highlighted the potential explosions and the attacks targeting two pipelines under the Black Sea, It should be noted that the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines were built to deliver Russian natural gas to Turkey.
