The Pentagon has put several options for extreme military action against Tehran on Donald Trump's table, including a plan to assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his potential successor, his son Mojtaba Khamenei.

According to a report by the US media Axios, Trump may choose this extreme path if Iran does not accept Washington's tough conditions for completely halting its nuclear program.

A Trump adviser said that the Pentagon has prepared different plans for each situation, one of which is to eliminate Iran's supreme leader and the top leadership of the influential mullahs.

Currently, the large US military presence and increasing provocations in the Middle East indicate a possible war. The report claims that the Trump administration may allow Iran to continue its nuclear enrichment, but on the condition that no path to building a nuclear bomb is left open.

US officials said that Trump's patience may quickly run out if no concrete and credible proposal comes from Tehran. A senior official has made it clear that Trump will only agree to a deal that he can present as a political success in his own country.

On the other hand, Israel and the Gulf states now see the possibility of a military conflict more than negotiations. The Israeli government is already reported to have started preparing for a joint military operation with the United States. Although the threat of an attack was heard from the United States this weekend, Trump has not yet made any final decision. According to Trump's advisers, the president is keeping all options open and can order an attack at any moment.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, however, said that they are working on a written proposal that will be presented in the next few days. He claimed that Iran is ready to make technical steps and political commitments to ensure that its nuclear program will be used only for peaceful purposes.

However, Washington has made it clear that the ball is now in Iran's court; the future of the war depends on how detailed Tehran's proposal is and how serious it is about giving up nuclear weapons.
