Who is the best footballer of all time? Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. This question has always haunted Argentine superstar Lionel Messi and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo throughout their 21-year football careers.

The two have played against each other 37 times. They have shared the Ballon d'Or 13 times. If all goes well, the two 'eternal rivals' could be seen playing together.

According to a report by TYC Sports, former La Albiceleste footballer Carlos Tevez is set to play his farewell match. He has spoken to Boca Juniors president Juan Roman Riquelme about hosting the match at La Bombonera. Riquelme has played alongside Tevez in the past. He has also agreed to play in the match. However, Tevez wants to have Messi and Ronaldo in the team together.

Many hope that Tevez, who is still in touch with Messi and Ronaldo, will convince them. If that happens, it will be history. The two and a half decades of waiting will also end for the audience. Now it remains to be seen whether the two superstars will be given clearance.

In an interview, Tevez said, "I want to see Messi and Ronaldo together. I want them to play together. I will bring them." However, not only Messi and Ronaldo, Gianluigi Buffon, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Edwin van der Sar, etc. can be seen in this match.

Tevez retired in 2021 after playing for Boca Juniors for the third time. Now, five years later, he is preparing for his farewell match. With Riquelme giving the green light, match officials are now discussing the final date for the match. It is reported that efforts are being made to find a date during the period when Boca Juniors will not have a match. It is learnt that around 60 footballers are expected to be present for the match.
