Salman Shah’s movie ’Love 96’

The movie 'Love 96' is based on the story of the craze, passion and madness of Salman Shah that spread in the nineties. The movie is directed by young director Ivan Mallick and is centered around the hero Salman Shah. 

Salman Shahr entered Dhallywood during the colorful nostalgia of watching favorite shows on old battery-powered black-and-white televisions, renting VCRs to enjoy movies all night, buying view cards, or listening to songs on cassette players and radios. The movie 'Love 96' is made around these.

The sudden death of the young Salman Shah in 1996 left the entire country stunned. Unable to cope with the grief, many fans and admirers chose the path of self-immolation. In that context, the movie 'Love 96' revolves around the life story and emotions of a blind devotee. Produced by Md. Jasim Uddin under the banner of Raisa Films, this movie is going to debut a new pair Aryan Khan and Purnta in Dhallywood. 

Salman Shah's death anniversary is on September 6. Two days before that, an initiative has been taken to screen the movie 'Love 96' across the country on Friday (September 4). The movie has already received a censor clearance from the Bangladesh Film Certification Board on May 10 without any cuts. The members of the certification board have also praised the production style and the presentation of the nineties of the movie, according to the producer's sources. 

Regarding the movie 'Love 96', director Ivan Mallick said, "Since the movie has received an uncut clearance from the censor board and has been praised, there is nothing controversial here. There is only the passion, madness of Salman Shah fans and an attempt to look back at that time of the nineties."

It is worth mentioning that in the movie 'Love 96', apart from debut pair Aryan Khan and Purnta, Shiva Shanu, Sanjida Mila, Tamal Mahbub, Rebecca Rouf, Armaan Khan, Priya, DJ Sohel, Rubel Rana, Simanto Khandaker, among others, have also acted.
