Haaland’s new haircut, speechless girlfriend says - ’I’m crying’

Erling Haaland appeared in a completely different light at the start of the new season. And the reaction of the Manchester City star striker's family and loved ones to this transformation was worth seeing.

The Manchester City forward, known for his long blonde hair, posted a series of photos and videos on his YouTube channel and social media on Sunday, showing off his short, cropped hair just hours before the Premier League opener against Bournemouth.

It's a big change from the Viking-style long hair he's been wearing for the past four years at the club.

His long-time girlfriend, 24-year-old Isabelle Havgseng Johansen, is also seen in the released YouTube video. After cutting off Haaland's long hair, a speechless Johansen can be heard saying, "I'm crying."

As soon as he cut off a large section of his hair for the first time, he let out a cry of surprise. He held the cut hair in his hands and couldn't contain his surprise and said, "Oh my God!"

Then, when Haaland got his desired 'buzz cut' form, Johansen trembled in surprise again and stood with his hand over his mouth.

After responding a few times, he finally said, quite happily, "That's a good fit! You look very sweet."

However, 26-year-old Haaland didn't like his girlfriend's comment because he wanted to see himself as a bit rough and tough.

Johansen added, "I wake up in the morning and think, 'Who's lying next to me?'"

Johansson shared a photo from Sunday's match on his Instagram story, revealing that he had also gotten a new haircut. "A little new look before autumn," he wrote to his 2.1 million followers. "Family haircut day!" one fan wrote in the comments.

The pair, who grew up together in Bryne, Norway, were a hit at this year's FIFA World Cup, with Haaland leading his country to the quarter-finals.

Johansen first contacted Haaland on Instagram when he went to play for Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

Haaland previously said in an interview, "He was the one who sent me the first message. He liked me first, not me."

The couple welcomed a son in December 2024. However, they have not yet released any pictures or names of the child.

Haaland said he received a warning from Zlatan Ibrahimovic before cutting his long hair. Ibrahimovic told him, 'All your strength is in that hair!'

However, Haaland, a former Barcelona and Manchester United star, ignored the warning from the biblical story of 'Samson' and cut his hair.

Sitting in the barber's chair, Haaland tried to imagine how Manchester City fans would react to his new look.

Haaland laughed and said, "I can't stand to hear the song from the fans' mouths - 'Hey, who's that guy again?' I want City fans to sing this exact song!"

He added, "Imagine if I scored a goal with my head tomorrow!"

Haaland and Johansson were in the news after the World Cup, and they stunned everyone last month by appearing in stunning looks at the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in Taormina, Sicily.

The couple also recently attended a Jennifer Lopez concert in Sicily, where Haaland was seen getting a little 'jealous' while talking to actor Michelle Morrone Johansson.

At the time of writing, Manchester City were trailing 1-0 against Bournemouth in the second half of the match.
